When results post

WGFD’s dates table lists nonresident elk results May 21 and deer, antelope and resident elk results Jun 18, with no year. Confirm the 2027 dates on WGFD.

Where to check

Sign in to your WGFD account, or use WGFD’s draw results and odds page.

If you drew: plan it

  1. Claim or pay first. Drawing your first choice in the initial drawing resets your elk, deer or antelope points, per WGFD. Your points only count for your first choice.
  2. Read the hunt rules. Your unit or area regulations, legal weapon, dates and any mandatory check or report are on the WGFD site and your license. Only WGFD is official.
  3. Put the hunt on the calendar. Block the season dates, then work backward: scouting trips, travel, lodging and time off.
  4. Get the gear sorted. Start with the one piece below, then the full gear guides.

If you missed: bank points and catch the next window

  1. Check your points. Nonresidents cannot buy elk, deer or antelope points inside the initial draw (WGFD, since 2019). Use the summer to fall point-only window instead, and do not skip two years in a row or you lose your points. See Wyoming preference points.
  2. Look for second chances. WGFD posts leftover licenses after the draws. Check its draw results page for the list and dates.
  3. Line up next year. Wyoming draw odds and nonresident elk 2027. Full calendar: draw deadlines.

The four words on results day

Drawn (successful)
You won a tag or permit. Most agencies make you pay or claim it by a deadline, or you lose it.
Unsuccessful
You did not draw. In point states this usually earns you a point for next year. Your fee rules depend on the state.
Leftover
Tags nobody drew or claimed. States sell or redraw them later. Points usually do not apply to them.
Preference / bonus points
Credit for past tries. Preference points put you in line ahead of people with fewer. Bonus points add chances in a random draw. Drawing your first choice usually resets them.
